What began as a family-run neighbourhood convenience store in 1996 has grown alongside Brussels. While we’ve expanded our offering over the years, we’ve remained true to what we’ve always been: the local shop you can rely on for everyday essentials, late-night necessities and a warm welcome.

Authentic, delicious fresh Indian food! Famous for their samosas. For me, the best in Brussels.

This place should be high on the list of anyone craving authentic, delicious home cooked. Menu is straightforward. Food is cooked to order and you can request items not in the menu too. Staff is super friendly and food does not take long to prepare. Portions are generous…

घर का खाना · Since 1996
For nearly three decades, our family has welcomed neighbours through the same doors on Rue de Flandre. What began in 1996 as a small family-run convenience store, with our home just behind the shop, has become part of everyday life in Sainte-Catherine.
Growing up, the aromas of our family meals often drifted from the kitchen into the street. Neighbours would stop, take a deep breath and smile: “If you ever sold this, we’d be your first customers.” For years, it was simply a compliment. Eventually, we decided to listen.
We began preparing the Punjabi dishes we grew up with, using family recipes passed down through generations. More recently, we’ve expanded our shelves with authentic Indian groceries, spices, teas and Ayurvedic pantry staples, creating a place where tradition can be discovered as well as enjoyed.
Yet some things have never changed. We’re still the neighbourhood shop people rely on for everyday essentials, a last-minute ingredient, or a friendly face. In a district that has transformed over the years, we’re proud to remain one of the last independent, family-run shops still serving the community every day.
Swadish has always been more than a store. It’s a place built on family, neighbourhood and the simple pleasure of sharing good food.
More than just a grocery store
